About the Author
David (formerly Graham) Cooke is married with 4 adult daughters. He loves his family very much, and is heavily involved in his local church, and with projects and churches in Kenya, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
They attempted to educate him at Kite Hill, then Whitgift School, Exeter University, Guildford College of Law, and All Nations Christian College. He is currently part-time at Chichester University.
He writes poetry, and has also written a theological analysis of Prophecy which is being prepared for publication, together with a study of the book of Obadiah.
He was a long distance runner until knee problems supervened, masochistically enjoying a 50-mile run on the Isle of Skye to celebrate turning 50. He used to be a happy but indifferent sportsman. He is not too good at Crosswords, either, and wrestles with complex Sudoku!
Having sold his interest in a Portsmouth law firm in April 2009, David is looking to make his life count by devoting himself to God and to good.
He enjoys good red wine, and his many friends, both in the UK and abroad, of whom he is very proud.
Born in Surrey, and for many years a South Londoner, he now lives in West Sussex, and loves the South Downs, its woods and flora and fauna and in particular its butterflies.
His other happy panorama are at Lyme Regis, Chapeldown on St Martin's in the Isles of Scilly, the Quiraing on the Isle of Skye, and Nakaputa Hill, Ndola, Zambia.
The book "Jonah and Nahum" is intended to open up the Minor Prophets to Christians who struggle with mainstream commentaries. It is not an academic approach; the aim being to provoke thought, challenge assumptions and encourage devotions. Empires come and go, but the word of the Lord endures for ever!
David is an avid reader himself as can be seen from his Recent Reading List.
