MASTER OF CEREMONIES
Ladies and Gentlemen:
This is the day we award the workers
And thank them for all they have done,
All their toil, their hard graft, their commitment
And their labour under the sun.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Did you notice the enormous red carpet?
You're all welcome as our honoured guests.
There'll be banquets and feasting and dancing
All laid on at the Master's request!
[APPLAUSE]
Ladies and Gentlemen:
There are knighthoods and ribbons and laurels,
Citations, trophies and well-earned awards,
So please put your hands together
And EXPLODE in uproarious applause!
[APPLAUSE]
But…what's this?
Who's this?
Standing there, silent and still,
A contrast to all this razzamatazz,
The crowd's shouting and screaming, and shrill?
SIR- please stand aside!
Go away- GET OFF THE HILL
Oh! You've been there already
And paid a high price for the bill?
Look here, O Silent One,
Don't spoil the day for the others.
They've worked so hard to be here.
This is the Emmy, the Bafta, the Oscars,
It's the Christian Servant Awards of the Year!
[APPLAUSE]
What do you mean, that without you
They wouldn't be here?
Why are you looking so sorrowful
And why do you seem so sad?
This is a day for rejoicing,
A day for the crew to be glad!
Strange, there are marks on your body,
I can see as you stretch out your arms.
What…odd…peculiar… I say…
You remind me of Someone familiar,
Wait…don't turn away!
OH! IT'S YOU JESUS
You have all right to be here
Why!It's your work as the Suffering Servant,
Kickstarted my Christian career.
Your stripes healed my wounds,
Your head took my pain,
Your wrists took the nails
And your spirit my shame.
[APPLAUSE]
LORD: You take the Highest Place in this Hall
You are the Worthy Servant,
The Greatest of us all.
