CONSIDER JESUS NUMBER 2
The real story is a Win-Lose
Situation, with a loss
On which people have views,
As they consider the Cross;
There was nearly an insurrection,
And some doubt the Resurrection.
At first sight, there was an obvious winner
Which wasn't any of the three who died.
Jesus, who had no sin, became a sinner
For us: "It is finished" are the words he cried
As mankind's arch enemy revelled in the pain
Inflicted: he thought he'd won again
By killing his Maker's Son.
But blood with pure hands was nailed
On Golgotha: this sacrifice won
Our pardon and Satan's plot had failed.
Despite his deliberation
God's lifeblood bought our liberation.
A further thought reveals a fresh surprise
The second man hangs on a cross and died
This thief called out - Jesus had paid his price for Heaven -this man laid down his pride,
"Remember me in your kingdom"
He then cried,
"He will join me in paradise today," Jesus replied.
This tale brings hope to each of us who's failed
And drained the cup of fear and misery
Or in the bitter lonely night have wailed about our broken sorrow and inferiority.
Forget the Easter trappings,
And the colour of the wrappings
Round your presents.
This is a present issue:
Consider Jesus, in the living
Of His life, and on Calvary.
Consider Jesus, in the giving
Of His life, He is the Cavalry
Who has come to our rescue.
Believe; surrender, give him thanks.
Will you?
